What are your thoughts about the current PokeStop distance

Niantic and Pokemon Go decreased the PokeStop distance for US and NZ players (they incresed it in NZ due to the full lockdown) and players are furious. They said they will be making some changes starting September 2021, but I don't think they will increse the distance to what it was before 80m.

EDIT: From now on, 80 meters will be the base interaction radius for PokéStops and Gyms globally!!!

Zulumibr I just started playing Dearing lock down and know that they went and changed up on me from what I thought was normal since I just started to playing about to stop playing because know I have to be up on top of each PokeStop having to cross street a lot know just to get to a pokastop suck and is very dangerous at times. If they don't go back to what I thought was normal on the distance I'll stop playing for it's gotten to dangerous having to keep crossing all the streets back and forth just to get to a pokastop.

If Niantic would've changed the pokestop distance back to what it was before lockdowns, I could understand, but it's even harder to reach them now than it normally was. I don't understand it. ⁉️

Yeah I think they should revert the distance to how it was. Another wave of COVID-19 is already here and lockdowns are coming in hot. If Niantic doesn't do anything about this they'll lose their player base.

It's terrible! Before you could spin a disc while driving (as a passenger) as going down
the road. Now. it's impossible! So few gifts to send now!

I'm quite upset about this. I have a weakened immune system and I can not play much at all now that the delta variation is going around.

MelissaHobbs I totally agree. I used to be able to get more things than I could ever use. Now I barely get any. So very sad. Hubby likes it because I'm hardly using any money! 😆

I think it would be foolish for Niantic to basically ignore at least 75% of their everyday players. If it's a better way to play... Then why the hll not? I'm afraid they're not looking at where their revenue is coming from! I don't know where Niantic lives but it's probably not anywhere near Earth in the pandemic which is inherently getting worse as the days go by! Pokemon go trainers or like a huge family. Niantic is the mommy and daddy who are being big dicks! The distance from the poke stops and from the gyms should not make that much any difference their program. If Niantic is worried about their 3D innovations in this game just released another game! we like this one ..... It was so much more fun. People will leave this game ...lots of people.... People who spend lots of money because they're having a good time. And excuse me Niantic if you think the virus is gone think again. There's going to be people flipping vaccinated that are going to get it and there's going to be people who are not vaccinated we're going to get . But this time it's going to be worse. I play a few raids now and then.... Catch a few Pokemon send a few gifts and I mean few. I have 66 friends.... Even if I was able to get then I wouldn't be able to send enough. Really good people are on this game and it keeps them I'm doing other stupid s! Please Niantic put the bonuses back it's not that big of a deal and you'll make more money there are way too many trainers out here that are upset about this way too many you really want to put it back for everyone's safety. oh yeah ...isn't that very first motto? To be safe ...well, Niantic, you're making it not safe by doing this. Schools are closing back down, masks mandated everywhere...
I mean what are you thinking? people are quitting your game because it's not going to be fun you will make no money from this game... not like you have been. Isn't that the point? Anything you do with your 3D stuff it's not going to be bothered by being able to spin a pokestop from farther away or spend a gym or get into a gym from farther away. I think I say this for all of us please rethink your decision on this because it was a bad decision we don't even want an apology we just want it changed so we can have fun again. I started this game right before the pandemic and played it all the way through I love this game please don't mess it up! Please I don't think you'll find another community like this! I know I won't! When you spend years and years building your Pokedex,spending tons and tons of money, there really isn't a starting over point in another game like this. The revenue that you guys have pulled in since you did this at the beginning of the pandemic has to be astronomical..... So why screw the people that have made you rich and literally looks at you like a game God. I sincerely hope that you put your thoughts with the people to play your games and not with your ego! This s* sucks really bad. I've been seeing YouTube influencers quitting all over the place! Very disgusted in the way Niantic is handling their trainers. Very bad news Niantic I hope September first there's going to be good news...

otherwise ... It's adios for a whole lot of us! and by the time you figure out that you were wrong it'll be too late I'm sorry say! Here's to doing the right thing! The pandemic is by far not over so why are the bonus is over?

Niantic is being selfish. I understand the increased distance started because of the pandemic but it made the game so much better. I am a parent of a special needs adult. He has CP caused from a prenatal stroke. Part of his disability is hemiplegia. Then 2 years ago he fell breaking his fibula and tibula. He had to have a metal rod in his leg and screws in his ankle. Because of this it is very difficult for him to walk distances. He doesn't have much in his life but he loves Pokemon Go. He is a level 48 trainer and very proud of that accomplishment. With the increased distances he could spin stops from the car as I drove or we could sit in the car of our local park and reach them. He even got me to start playing. In 6 months I reached level 40 if that gives an idea of how much we played. Since the increased distance there is only 4 stops we can reach. My son is very upset and doesn't understand. It breaks my heart to see one of the few things in his life that truly made him happy being taken away. I know I am not the only person with this kind of issues. The pandemic may have brought on the change but it made the game so much better. I can't understand why Niantic can't or won't recognize that.

It's really too much of a decrease! We used to be able to reach one from our yard that's on a playground right next to our yard but now you actually have to be on the playground to interact with it. Being an adult that is a little too ridiculous for me to do. My son, husb, and I all used to play regularly, with me actually buying tickets to events and buying stuff from the store but not anymore. It's not worth it if I can't spin any pokestop or gyms to get free stuff and gifts for my friends.

Niantic is lying and the distance hasn’t gone to pre pandemic distance. I live next to a pokestop and I’ve always been able to visit it from my apartment. Now I have to go outside and be pretty much on the church’s property. While at a park I tried to visit a gym, and it’s at a skating rink. I had to pretty much go to the entrance to interact with the gym and stop. I didn’t have a problem buying pokeballs here and there, but now they’re forcing players to do so, and they’re using the pandemic as an excuse.

I started playing in February when the distances were increased. I am disabled and cannot walk very much. I mostly play by parking my car near Pokestops and gyms. There are now many Pokestops that are not accessible to me. In addition, in my area many Pokestops and gyms are at churches, which are technically private property. Most churches don't mind if you pull into their parking lot momentarily to interact with a Pokestop but I was sternly confronted by a pastor the other day for doing just that. That is one less Pokestop that is available to me. I used to be able to access that Pokestop from a nearby street. There are many Pokestops I can no longer access without walking which causes me hours of increased pain. I am not sure how much longer I will be able to play the game with the interaction distances set as they are now.

I really love PoGo, but the interaction change between pokestops and gyms being as small as it is now, I can't really get to them. I'm in a wheelchair and live in a very hot part of the country. We've had record breaking heat waves that make it almost impossible for me to get to a PokeStop or gym. Traveling at night in a wheelchair is incredibly dangerous, but that's really the only time I can get out. On top of it all, I have a very weak immune system that oftentimes makes breathing difficult. With the Delta variant plaguing America right now, I can't risk getting to close to people. This change in distance makes that impossible, so I'm extremely limited as to when I can get out. Turn it back to the 80 meters Niantic so that people like me can actually play a game they like safely
